I worked unusually fast on this portrait to gauge how time efficient I could be. It took only about 7 hours because of the extremely simple background and the fact that the face was such a close-up with no shirt or neck, hair covering the ears, and no extras such as glasses — and of course the fact that I rushed through it. (Only about 1/3 of the time I typically spend on a portrait.)
A portrait of this size (16X20) and level of simplicity could be commissioned for roughly $250 on gallery wrap canvas.
